the film concept and title
If the whole business with kiffo and the pitbull were a book turned into a film i would've kept the title the same. If the title were different people won't know what the book version of it was and would get confused. The audience would not think that the book is related the movie, and the title is the main part of the entire movie. It's good to keep titles the same. Like other movies the title is the same as the book , if you want to read the book before the movie it's easier to search up the movie with the same title as the book.
The rating of the movie is PG, 12+. The reason that is, is because there is use of alcohol, and swearing. I kept it because it's read by young teenagers so they would want to be able to see the movie. This movie isn't just liked for girls of just for boys. This movie is about friendship and being judged. The girls would like the friendship and the interesting characters. The boys would like the story line and the crime, fighting scenes. As you can see this movie is for anyone.
MY IDEA FOR THE CAST LIST:
Calma: Isabelle Furhman
Kiffo: Rupert Grint
Pitbull: The Trunchbull
Calma: I chose Isabelle Furhman to play as Calma, because through my eyes she's exactly the way i pictured Calma. She has been in a few movies so she could pull it off. In her movies she's not exactly the good person so i think it would be interesting to see how she will act a the good person in the movie. During the book she says a couple of mean things, like the description of Kiffo (on pages 1 & 2 ), and her impression of the Pitbull. If she were to play Calma that'll be the best part that she'll be good at. Isabelle is the perfect to play Calma because she's a wonderful actor and i'd like to see the other side of her acting.
Kiffo: I decided for Rupert Grint to plat as Kiffo, mainly because of the look. he's so experienced at acting he would defiantly be able to play as Kiffo. The way i pictured Kiffo looked the same as Rupert Grint, i was so confident about choosing him i didn't even think twice about it. Calma's description o Kiffo relates to Rupert "Kiffo's hair is like a glowing sunset' page 1" which means that Kiffo's hair is red like Rupert's hair. He is so perfect for the role.
Pitbull: I have chosen for the Trumchbull to play the Pitbull, she has bee in the movie Matilda. In Matilda her character is also a teacher, and described the way i pictured the Pitbull. I dont think anyone else could do a better job of the pitbull than anyone else. The pitbull in the book is a mean person and so is the Trunchbull's character, so it's a perfect fit. '' miss harrison, unless you go away now i will call the police, do i make myself plain?" that's a quote that the Pitbull says on page
film set
If the whole business with kiffo and the pitbull were a movie i would've had my film set today. Because during the problems in the book, also become reality. A lot of the problems that happen in the whole business with kiffo and the pitbull happen in real life, for example when a friend dies, and a car accident.
Caroline springs would be a great place to film this movie because, caroline springs has the schools, parks, shops and houses/streets. the way Caroline Springs is constructed I imagined where Calma and Kiffo wander about in the book.
what is the whole business with kiffo and the pitbull?
here is the blurb from the back of the book:
I don’t know you at all. I wouldn’t recognize you from a hole in the ground. If I was telling this story to some friends, then they would already know Kiffo and they would know me and they would know the school and everything. I would be able to get straight into what happened when a new English teacher, the Pitbull, slobbered and snarled her way into out class. But you don’t know anything. No offense.
its a really interesting book i hope that after this blog they will turn it into a movie!!
SOUNDTRACK
Soundtrack:
mediation between Calma and the pit bull:
For this scene 'fight for you' be
Jason Derulo is an amazing song for this scene. i chose this song because this
song has the lyrics 'fight for you' in the chorus, and during that chapter in
the book calma tries to finish off what kiffo and her where trying to achieve. She
also sticks up for kiffo and tries to stay her stand; calma fights to
know the truth about the pitbull because then the whole part of the mission
would be useless. in the book calma says ' i loved kiffo ' page 231, that quot
means that she cared for him and that she'd tried to help him on what he tried
to find out. Most importantly fighting for him!!
kiffo's funeral:
I’ve chosen without
you by David guetta for the scene kiffo's funeral. i have chosen this song
because normally in furneralls in movies, the songs are slow and sad. But this
song is different, i though it would be interesting. 'i will never win this
game, without you' this is a lyric from the song that is perfect for the
funeral because scince it was kiffo's idea to go and try again to figure what
is up with the pit bull the last time. it seems that calma didn't want to
finish it without him. on page 215 of the book 'god’s sake! It’s over, kiffo
finished.'.
flashbacks: for the flashbacks in the background I’ve chosen paradise
by cold play, his song is perfect for all the flashbacks. ‘every tear is a
waterfall' is a line from the song, it matches the flash back when
kiffo comforts calma, he cried for her. kiffo asks calma during a flashback, ''
are you ok?' he says gently. you put your head on his sholder" another
great quote that matches that one is on page 232 " in your head a fist
pounds a wall as tears fall down a small boys face. you notice that your cheeks
are wet too" that quote is from the book, and that it means that kiffo is
crying because calma is.
Kiffo's death: i found that kiffo's death was so upsetting to read, i had a clear
picture in my mind of the scene. When kiffo gets wheeled into the
hospital room i thought that safe and sound by Taylor swift was so
perfect that was the first song that came to my head. "you'll be alright,
no one can hurt you now, come morning light, you and I’ll be safe and
sound..." that line from the song reminded me of this scene of kiffo's
death. this song means that kiffo will be safe in heaven, and you can hurt you
anymore, it explains it all through the lyrics. "The last i saw
of kiffo was a glimpse of red hair beneath a tide of white uniforms" that
is a quote from the book on page 216, it was the last tie calma saw
kiffo.
motor bike chase: when calma and kiffo are on the motor bike chasing the pit bull
and the ferret, I thought the perfect song for it was wild ones by Flo Rida.
"I am a wild one, tame me now" is a line from the song and
when I imagined calma and kiffo on the motor bike, kiffo doesn't have a licence
so they are being wild. kiffo is a crazy wild person, so he does whatever he
wants and that’s what wild people do. "i still got l that adrenaline
rush." clama says on page 204 right before the accident. that quote shows
that calma's s exited and she can't think on what shes doing, so she's being
wild.
when the police
come to calma's house/ talking to calma:
a song that suites these scenes is
part of me by Katy Perry. “This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever
take away from me, no" that is a lyric from the song that is perfect for
this scene. Because when the police come to calma's house thy accuse her for
stalking the pitbull, but calma says that she didn't. It means that shes
telling the truth but they don't believe her. They can't make her say
something that she doesn't want to. ''He told me that what i was doing was
illegal" page 157. thats what the police were telling calma.
every time calma
and kiffo sees jonno: I chose hangover by Taio Cruz. “I got a little bit trashed last night, night" that’s a lyric
that matches the scene when calma first sees jonno, when they get there his
house is trashed. He throws a cup out of the window, so he's lazy and doesn't
take care for himself. "It was only when we were two hundred meters away
from jonno's place that i allowed myself to relax." she said that because
she felt uncomfortable near of in jonno's house. Since jonno drinks a lot
she didn't want t drink.
kiffo and calma break into the pitbull's house: when Calma and Kiffo walked into the Pitbull's house, Kiffo went into
her house by himself while calma waited outside. But then the Pitbull came home
and Calma sticked up for kiffo with this one quote, "i love you miss Payne'
I yelled." page 59. She said that to stop he pitbull from going into her
house. “When we are called to help our friends in need" that’s from the
song count on me by Bruno Mars. That song suites the quote from the book.
when calma told the
police about the evidence when calma told the police about the
evidence, the perfect song for it is secrets by one republic. "So I'm Going
to Give all my secret Away" that's a line from the song that's so perfect.
She tells them everything that she knows about the pitbull. "Game over
finished end of story" page 239 calma says in her head after she finds out
the truth about the pitbull that's the end of what she and kiffo wanted to find
out.
after kiffo gets kicked out of his house: when kiffo gets kicked out of his house, him and calma go for a
walk to the
park. The perfect song for that time is A team by Ed sheeran. "slowly sinking,
wasting crumbling like pastries" is a lyric from the song, and a quote
that matches it is "the door burst open and a familiar hunched
figure swept past me as if I didn't exist" it was kiffo who burst out of
the door. kiffo was clearly arguing with his dad, who calma heard them yelling
at each other.
